⏱ Duration: ~15 min · 🎯 Goal: get your environment and entitlements ready for all 4 weeks. In the advanced track, the plan you have determines which features you can use in the room.

This track uses Claude Desktop every week and touches features that are not on every plan. Before Week 1, confirm three things: a paid plan, Desktop installed and up to date, and the basic track completed. Then review the entitlement notes: they’re the difference between doing an exercise yourself or watching it as an instructor demo.

Base requirements

  1. A paid Claude plan (Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise) — none of this track’s features are on the free plan.
  2. Claude Desktop installed and UP TO DATE (macOS or Windows). Update the app before each session: Skills, Code, Dispatch, and Design evolve fast and several features require recent versions.
  3. Basic track completed or equivalent mastery of Cowork (delegating assignments, modes, Projects, local files).
Tip
Update Claude Desktop the night before each session. More than one exercise in this track requires the latest version, and you don’t want to spend room time updating.

Cohort assumption: this track assumes a Team or Enterprise plan, so Dispatch and Record a skill run as an instructor demo and skill distribution is done org-wide. If your cohort is Pro/Max, those blocks become hands-on and the org-wide provisioning becomes a demo instead.

Plan and entitlement notes (read carefully)

These features depend on your plan. If your plan doesn’t include them, the exercise runs as an instructor demo.

  • Dispatch and Computer use → Pro or Max only. Not available on Team or Enterprise. If the room is Team/Enterprise, Week 2 will see Dispatch as a demo.
  • Claude Design → research preview on Pro, Max, Team, and Enterprise. On Enterprise it’s off by default: an admin must enable it in Organization settings > Capabilities > Anthropic Labs. Confirm this before Week 4.
  • Skills → require “Code execution and file creation” enabled on your account. Without that capability, skills won’t load. Verify it before Week 1.
  • Record a skill → Mac only (Cowork on macOS), on Pro, Max, or Team plans. It’s not available on Windows; if the room isn’t all Macs, that Week 1 exercise runs as an instructor demo.
Warning
Claude Design is off by default on Enterprise. If your organization is Enterprise, ask the admin to enable it in Organization settings > Capabilities > Anthropic Labs ahead of time, or Week 4 will be demo-only.

  • You completed the basic track or master Cowork at an equivalent level.
  • Code execution and file creation is enabled (required for Skills).
  • You know which features on your plan you’ll do yourself and which will be demos: Dispatch/Computer use Pro/Max only, Record a skill Mac only, Claude Design off by default on Enterprise.

Remember the permanent guardrail: never upload PII, NDA data, or customer data or commercially sensitive information. In this workshop you’ll only use fictional materials.
