1.5 Session 1 wrap-up

Info
⏱ Duration: ~15 min · 🎯 Goal: consolidate what you learned, validate the session checkpoint, and prepare for Week 2.

Week 1 of 4 complete. Today you turned your way of working into a reusable asset: you created an “Elektra QBR” skill by talking, learned Record a skill, and installed your first plugin. The work no longer depends on you being present to get it right; the knowledge lives in the skill.

✅ Session checkpoint

To close out Week 1 you should have:

  • An “Elektra QBR” skill saved in your library that invokes itself (shows “Using [skill]”) and produces the document with the template’s sections.
  • At least one plugin installed from the Knowledge Work marketplace.
  • Clarity on where your skills live (Customize > Skills; on Desktop/Cowork saved locally) and the two distribution routes (org-wide vs. plugin to a group).

Wrap-up quiz

Test what you learned — 2 questions

1. Which SKILL.md field decides when Claude invokes your skill, and what’s its limit? The description (200 characters max). Claude uses it to decide when to invoke the skill.

2. You want only your finance team to have the QBR skill, not the whole company. How do you distribute it? Bundle it into a plugin and assign that plugin to the finance group, instead of provisioning it org-wide in Organization settings > Skills.

For next week

Tip
Week 2 · Automate with governance. You’ll take today’s skill and put it to work on its own: scheduled tasks, the Manual / Auto / Skip modes, Dispatch, and sub-agents. Bring your Claude Desktop updated and think of a recurring report from your directorate worth automating.
